Teachers
Who teaches at Still Point
A small teaching team who know their students by name. Each brings years of practice and a particular way of holding space.
Aoife O'Sullivan
Leads Morning Vinyasa and Improver classes
Aoife trained in Vinyasa flow over eight years ago and has taught in Galway for five. She builds classes that are steady and warm—precise about alignment, but never rigid. Her morning classes fill with returning students who come for the clarity and the pace. She says a good class should feel like thinking with your body.
Declan Mahon
Leads Beginner Yoga and Restorative Evening classes
Declan came to yoga as a runner looking for balance and stayed because it changed how he moves through the world. He teaches with patience and humour—especially with beginners, whom he remembers being himself. His evening restorative classes are for anyone needing slowness, whether you're new or you've been practicing for years. He believes yoga should feel like coming home.
Siobhán Burke
Leads the Monthly Workshop and guest intensives
Siobhán studied yoga in India and has practised for twelve years. She holds the monthly workshops—longer explorations into breath, subtle alignment, or the thinking side of practice. She also leads occasional weekend intensives for students ready to go deeper. Her teaching is scholarly and spacious; she creates time for real questions.
Our approach
Attentive, not rushed
Because classes cap at twelve, we see you. We notice if a shoulder creeps up, if you're holding your breath, if you need a gentler variation. That kind of attention takes time and space—which is exactly what small groups give us.
Your body matters
We teach to the people in the room, not to an imagined ideal. Every body is different, every practice is different. Our teachers offer options, adjustments, and modifications—not as afterthoughts, but as the centre of how we work.
No jargon, all clarity
We teach in plain language. You'll hear about breath, alignment, and how things feel—not Sanskrit lists or philosophy lectures. Beginners and experienced practitioners learn side by side, each moving at their own pace.
Moving through your practice
Most students don't stay in one class forever. You'll move between teachers and styles as you grow—and that's exactly how it should work.
Start with Beginner Yoga
No experience needed. Declan teaches you the foundations, the breath, what safe alignment feels like. This is where everyone begins.
Move to Morning Vinyasa or Improver
Once you've found your feet, join Aoife's flowing classes. They build on what you know, moving faster and with more refinement. Come as often as feels right.
Explore the Monthly Workshop
When you're ready to slow down and think deeper, join Siobhán for longer explorations. These sessions go beyond the flow—into breath, subtlety, and what yoga really is beneath the shapes.
Come back to Restorative
At any stage, an evening restorative class with Declan gives you permission to rest. These are for when you need slowness—whether that's tomorrow or five years in.
